Rainy weekend (again), but so much got done!!!

Chris helped the whole weekend and Adam stayed for a long Saturday. We got so, so much done: we built the large gable wall, the small gable wall and the east and west walls, and all the roof decking was finished on both road and lake sides. Just have some details and the wall sheathing and roof decking on the gables to finish up.

It was crazy but we laughed and had fun even with the drizzle. We ate well and enjoyed watching Avatar on the basement wall...it was like having an 80" screen!

Rain, rain, rain...we just kept building.

Chris helped out with the new "friend" Maddie brought home. 

Look at that expression of pride on her face! She is indeed a Hunter Warrior Queen!

 

Here's what the upstairs looks like facing west. That's our bedroom with the gable on the left facing the lake.

Below is the east-facing wall. It's another bedroom on the right and the 1/2 bath straight ahead. The window is not framed in yet in the bathroom, but it's a 2x2 foot awning window, like the one on the front of the cabin.  Awesome space...

When it was really raining hard, we built a wall between the utility room and bathroom in the basement.

Note the 2x6 construction for that extra bathroom sound-proofing benefit. Ya!
