Not just a "chip" of heaven!

We just learned that our lifelong friend, Kurt Schlee, has gone home to be with Jesus this morning. His precious family was with him in his last hours here on earth. And they now KNOW that he is enjoying the sweet presence of his Savior face to face...ALL of the glory of heaven! We praise God for the assurance of that truth! Still, to be such a young man and to have fought such a long battle with his brain cancer is difficult to understand. Certainly we never will.

He leaves behind a great wife, Dawn, who has faithfully stood by his side, selflessly attending to all of his needs for many years. Her care for him has been and will always be a great inspiration to me. Their children Jessica and her two children, Shelby and Riley, their daughter, Kyleen, and her husband, Seth, and daughter, Joy, and their son, John, were all home this past week and have had time with family and friends visiting. God has been gracious in allowing this time.

We grieve with the Schlee family, but trust the One who created Kurt. He is a loving heavenly Father who has welcomed his son home at last.
