Cool date - awesome weekend! We enjoyed one of the most beautiful weekends that we have EVER had at the cabin! Saturday was a record high 83 degrees with a perfect breeze off the lake and leaves blowing gently from the trees. We ate lunch and dinner each day on the porch gazing out over the water It was truly glorious!
Besides enjoying the beauty of Little Chip, we worked our butts off on the siding, soffit and fascia installation! By the end of the weekend, we had finished the east, the lake and road sides of the cabin. We painted the long beam on the lake side and man, did that ever make a difference! It's hard to believe that we spent two 12-hour days working to get that all done! We are encouraged though about wrapping up three of the four sides. We hope to hire out the upper half of the walk-out side. It's just too stinking high!

| This is the front of the cabin at the beginning of the weekend...it is all done now...HOWEVER, we are so bugged that the crazy camera battery said it was "exhausted" and wasn't willing to take even one more picture to help us celebrate our accomplishment. I'll tell you who's exhausted! |
 |
| The leaves have almost all fallen. The trees show their detailed silhouettes against the autumn sky. |
 |
| View from the lake. Look at that fascia against that yummy chocolate brown beam! |
 |
| This was the beautiful sunset that followed us home! |
Last weekend the stairs were put in between the basement and main floor. It is a great thing! We placed a piece of foam board over the opening to keep the heat inside and the bugs outside. Unfortunately, Maddie didn't get the memo. She stepped onto the foam board, which snapped in half and she fell down the basement stairs. We found her standing dazed on the basement floor. Unfortunately, she hurt her left front leg. We feel awful for our puppers!
Now, all we have left is the duct work, the plumbing, the electrical, the insulation, the drywall, and the doors and appliances and lighting fixtures installation...that's all... :-)
